Carl: Acoustic Guitar
Introduced to the piano at 4, music has been a constant throughout Carl's life. He found the acoustic guitar in his late teens and he has always cherished the beauty and fulfillment found in the sound of a ringing string.
He later returned to the instrument after discovering the earth-shattering compositions of Michael Hedges. An iconic composer/artist of incredible creativity, Hedges expanded the concept and sound of six string acoustic and harp guitar to an unprecedented level until his untimely death in 1997.
In tribute to Hedges, featuring non-standard tunings, subtle textures and diverse amplification, Carl seeks to present the acoustic guitar in many flavors.
Eric: Fretless NS Upright Bass Guitar
An accomplished session bassist with over 30 years professional experience, Eric has performed all styles from rock to jazz, country to bluegrass and folk to reggae. His performing career spans from Cleveland to the Caribbean, continually adding the various influences to his versatile playing style.
Traditionally an electric bassist, in recent years he has focused on the upright bass, unveiling yet another creative voice with the NS electric upright. Affectionately known as his “big chubby stick,” it is with this voice that he lends a unique essence to the duo, something not typically found in music of this genre.
